When I switched on my computer, my intention was just to write a lovely little weekend post. That was before I browsed the web and accidentally found several 'pro-ana' blogs that now lie heavy on my heart. The further I went with my research the more websites I found and I am really, really feeling terrible about what's going on out there in the world wide web. How about child-welfare? How can hundreds and thousands of teenage girls (and boys) write daily blog-posts, describing what they (don't) eat and how much they hate themselves for being too 'fat'. How can it be that obviously anorexic or bulimic kids can teach each other how to abstain from food successfully or even give tutorials on how to harm themselves, without people caring for those websites and especially them people behind the blogs?? I'm feeling so helpless, not being able to stop that 'trend'. But at least I can spread my words here on the blog and tell you to accept yourself and be proud of who you are. Forever. Those pages really reminded me of how silly I am from time to time, complaining about my weight and working out plans on how to reduce it, myself. Life is more than a size
zero. On one of the blogs there was a proverb saying:
"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."
Please tell me that you disagree, my lovely readers. One may have the same thought from time to time, but given the above context it gets a whole other meaning. So do me a favour and enjoy some fresh fruits, delicious ice cream or whatever you're craving and be happy whilst doing so. Free yourself and live that one life you're given - the way YOU like it!! Happy weekend and thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts!!
