Sex and the City, Gossip Girl and all those glossy TV series create a very glamorous picture of NYC and especially the NYC style. Of course, this hasn't got anything to do with reality and there are only very few high heeled women on the streets at daytime. NYC is generally kinda laid back and I couldn't see 'the' typical NYC style. What I did see was a clear trend that could have been witnessed on hundreds of people in town - either New Yorkers wear Nike Frees or Tom's! That's like an unwritten law. Other than that, varieties in style are closely linked to the different boroughs. Williamsburg is more like a little 'Hipanema' with all those vintage shops and hipster people (reminded me a bit of London), whereas Queens is more the sweats kinda district. But I truly think that there's a place for everybody in NYC, no matter how crazy or which subculture he/she belongs to. That's what's so special about this town. Here are some of my NYC outfits!
