Fashion Week Berlin 2015: My Streetstyle Outfit

About a week ago - completely out of the blue - I got an invitation to join my friend Katii on her first adventure to MBFW Berlin! Like, can you believe to receive a call, telling you to pack your stuff and get ready for F A S H I O N  W E E K? Totes amazing! So, Huawei had us flown in, booked hotel rooms and reserved seats in the second row at Samuel Sohebi's fashion show at Club Felix, next to Brandenburger Tor. Posts about the crazy event (including some ridiculously critical thoughts!) and the gorgeous hotel we stayed at will follow within the next days, after my final exams.

I wanted to kick off my Fashion Week stories with the outfit I impulsively chose the night before our short but oh so cray-cray adventure! ;) Berlin is one of my favourite cities so far; the creative spirit gets me every time and my look somehow just appeared right to me. A little bit of vintage, black basics, lace and denim for a slightly edgy mix of materials. I love ensembles with a twist, so this is what I wanted to create and here's how it turned out. Oh, and I put a fedora on top & some red lipstick on.. for an extra hint of drama. Ha!

Love, Julie.

Snowy Knit: The Cozy XL Jumper

I'm totally into the comfy kinda 'style' at the moment. When it's still winter but you can feel the temperatures slowly rising, when the sun is coming out again - and - when exam time is in full swing, the time seems just too right for cozy jumpers, jeggings, shirts, whatever. Earlier this month, I wore my new white jumper as part of a layered combination with a lacy long sleeve and my go-to jacket. Now that it's steadily getting warmer, I'm leaving this last layer at home and am still feeling cozied up in the x-large knitted piece. Yep, spring is just around the corner..

Speaking of it, the obligatory spring cleaning has also reached the blog and had a major impact on the layout. Somehow, the old one felt a little too cluttered to me and I was pretty sure of the skull in the old header being misleading as far as the blog content is concerned. Now, with the help of my very talented and very patient friend N., I came up with a minimalistic and graphic idea.. and here it is - our clean approach to rearranging Stereotypically Me. Please tell me, if you like the new appearance!

Love, Julie.

Culinary Vienna: K.u.K. Hoflieferanten Gerstner & Schlumberger {Pastry Delight}

Hello my friends of the sugary cuisine! Today's restaurant recommendation is a newcomer in the Viennese gastronomy - "K.u.K. Hoflieferanten Gerstner & Schlumberger" - vis-á-vis the state opera in the first district. The beautifully decorated location combines a  d e l i c i o u s  pastry shop, a Schlumberger sparkling bar and a great variety of  fancy gourmet food and delicate edible presents. What additionally impressed me, besides the elegant interior and yet so very cozy and peaceful atmosphere, is the surprisingly reasonable price range, cheaper than Starbucks. During my last visit, I had the heavenly triple chocolate mousse, pralinès and salty petit fours and, due to the opening, got to try out a special service by sparkling wine producer Schlumberger - a personalized bottle of their famous alcoholic beverage. It only takes a few minutes to design the label of your choice and might be a cool (last minute) present idea. And, finally, I found the kitschy, high quality cupcake decor (edible glitter, sprinkles..) I was looking for in Austria. Here at the shop. Halleluja! ;) For opening hours, the address and further details, click here.

[P]interesting Inspiration for 2 0 1 5 & Conclusing Words on 2014

2 0 1 4

The past year sometimes has been harsh on me, when, on the other hand, there were pretty fabulous moments as well. Looking back, the best days and nights have been those spent with my besties! There's nothing I love more than (spontaneous) gatherings and connecting with my loved ones, no matter if that means game nights, drunken conversations or the simple pleasure of knowing exactly who you can always rely on. To my babes - I love you dearly! You know who you are.

Also, having a little brother is amazing. N. has flooded my heart with so much love it actually almost hurt and made me laugh when all I felt like was crying. You are admired so much!

Families in general are great and surely something to be thankful for. If you happen to have a large number of extended family members who are pretty close - like me - things can get a little crazy from time to time, though. Whenever problems seem to take over, it can quickly get quite demanding and stressful. In 2014, I tried to get better in distancing myself from people that try to make their problems my problems, without ever working on themselves or asking how I feel. I wonder if I'll ever get there, as you can't just decide to break the cycle from one day to another.

This past year also made me - us - do much better in the ever challenging game of love. It will all make sense someday, I guess. In the meantime, let's just enjoy the 'ups' and learn from the 'downs' of this roller coaster ride. And make out.

2 0 1 5

For the new year, I have very few wishes and even those are in other peoples' favors. I have finally come to a point, where I'm aware of me being in charge of my life and the actions and decisions that need to be made in order to succeed. All I hope for is progress - and the strength I need to grow through my struggles.

May this year be filled with fun adventures, road trips, live music, nights that turn into mornings and a whole lot of spontaneity. May we all  l i v e  instead of just existing. May we all seek to make ourselves proud instead of pleasing everyone else or striving for perfection.

Love, Julie.
